As massive foodies, the planning of our wedding food was so important to getting the right feel for our day & a representation of us as a couple. With a winter wedding, we wanted warm, comfort food that meant our guests didn't leave hungry. After being disappointed by other caterers due to lack of consideration of my vegetarian diet & lack of creativity, I was instantly relieved and excited when I started to speak with Heather. We didn't want to go with the traditional norm and wanted food that our children would eat too. I had an idea for our 'canapes' to be Cheese on Toast with a play on words 'say cheese, and toast' which fitted well with when our guests would be having photos and their welcome drink. Heather was just as excited by the concept and brought our idea to life just perfectly. We went for the pie menu and I'm still having friends now talking about the best pie they ever had at our wedding! As a veggie, you can often feel like an after thought when eating out, but I felt just as important as our meat eating guests :) As a pizza lover, we went for the pizza menu on the evening which fitted our comfort & relaxed wedding style with a mixture of slices on boards being taken to guests, and whole pizzas in boxes for guests to choose from. They were stunning pizzas and heather boxed us up a Mr & Mrs pizza to take home and eat as we knew we wouldn't get chance! I feel so happy & emotional still when I look back to our wedding day, and of all the little quirks & things that didn't go to plan, the food was the one complete perfection of the day.
